School of Applied Global Ethics

Leeds Met Africa

Courses

The School is at the forefront of developing new curricula.  The courses are popular with students who have a desire to engage with the central ethical dilemmas that concern us all at local, national and global levels. These challenges fundamentally concern issues such as the nature of the development process, global inequality, alleviation of hunger and disease, human security and terrorism, conflict resolution, environmental degradation and the digital divide.

The central feature of all courses is that the key questions facing humanity in the 21st century need to be examined from an ethical perspective.

The School of Applied Global Ethics seeks to bring together the well established research and practical development expertise from across the University. The courses will prepare you to develop and manage creative solutions to problems from a range of different theoretical and inter-disciplinary standpoints.  We aim to develop your ability to reflect on potential outcomes and decisions.

All courses focus on the role that individuals can play as a student, worker and global citizen in developing themselves both now and in their future in the workplace. Opportunities will be provided to complete work-based learning and/or work placements within a range of organisations.
