Scholarships available

100 Centenary Travel Scholarships 2007/08

Deadline for submission for 2007/08 Travel Scholarships is April 30th, 2008

The International Faculty is offering 100 international travel scholarships for Leeds Met students travelling overseas in 2007/2008 as part of their programme of study.

Institution-wide international exchange opportunities are available in many countries, including the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand and Japan. For more details of our exchange partners – check the listing at: http://www.leedsmet.ac.uk/internat/study_abroad/our_partners.htm

Alternatively, students may be participating in a Faculty-based international experience which contributes significantly to their programme of study. Students engaging in international activities attracting other forms of financial support (e.g. Erasmus grants, paid placements, etc.) are not eligible to apply.

Fixed scholarships are available to qualifying students, based on their study destination. This provides a great opportunity to enable students to gain financial support to enable them to benefit from the many study abroad opportunities available in the university. The period abroad should be for a minimum of 8 weeks.

To qualify

To qualify for a bursary, you must be:

• Studying or undertaking unpaid work experience on an agreed programme outside the UK (and not in your own country) which contributes to your Leeds Met award;
• Not receiving any other grant or support.

Scholarships are offered on condition that you agree to help support the work of the Office for International Programmes during and following your period abroad and produce an International Reflection (200 words) on part of your experience.
