Why did you choose Leeds Met?
The UK is well known for its prestigious educational structure. There have been universities in the UK since the 12th century, thus there is a well-established regime.
I found out about Leeds met through local media in India, especially the IIFA awards. Being associated with IIFA really announced Leeds Met and I felt it was the perfect place for me.
The Scholarship
The Leeds Met South Asia office were incredibly helpful and really encouraged me to apply for the scholarship as well as helping me from beginning to end with the application process. I was so excited when I won. This scholarship signifies the great pride I have in myself for being able to achieve this honour, especially having being chosen over many other applicants. My family is really very happy and truly appreciates the hard work and dedication it took to win the award.
The application process was very comprehensible. It involved an essay that covered all aspects of life and made me exemplify how I was a well-rounded individual. So, to be awarded the scholarship truly boosted my confidence because Leeds Met saw in me what I hoped to project both today and in the future.
What do you think of Leeds Met?
Leeds Met is a great university with a high standard of education, which is recognised globally.
My favourite experience since being here had to be the freshers’ festical organised by the university for the new international students. Every care was taken to help international students from opening a bank account, to registering for a doctor, obtaining a library card and receiving written and spoken English assistance. It was wonderful to arrive here from so far away and be greeted by a university that understood our trepidations as international students.
I live in the Mary Morris International Residence. I really enjoy being surrounded by so many different nationalities. Also, it is very near to the university and takes only a few minutes to walk here.
I really think that a degree from Leeds Met will enhance my skills and I feel I will be better equipped to compete in the job market.
