Why did you choose to study at Leeds Met?
The UK has the best reputation in the world for education. I felt a UK education would put me in good standing for my future.
Leeds Met has a great international student population and a great reputation for diligent care of those students. The university itself gets higher in the rankings each year and is recognised world-wide as a university of excellent standards.
Why did you apply for the scholarship and how did you feel when you won?
I applied for the scholarship with the hope that if I won, it would make paying for and attaining a degree more possible. I wrote my essay on what I would do to change the world, and in actual fact, that essay changed my world! Without winning the scholarship I may not have been able to come here and my future would have taken a much different path.
I was so overwhelmed when I found out I had won the scholarship! All of a sudden all the dreams and hopes for my future became a reality in an instant; I was going to the UK to study! I have waited all my life for this opportunity. My family are so very proud of me.
What do you think of Leeds/Leeds Met?
The campus is so beautiful. I have never seen anything like it before! I took so many pictures of the James Graham building and Headingley campus to send home to my family. Leeds Met has some of the most modern facilities I’ve ever seen; 24 hour libraries, 24 hour internet access, 24-hour availability of computers. It really is fantastic to study here!
