Why did you chose to study at Leeds Met?

I chose to study in the UK because it offered a master’s course that was one year in length. Leeds is one of the best cities after London. I thought Leeds Met would be the best place for me because of the course offered and because the city was so appealing. Leeds Met is one of the best universities in the UK and one can both learn and achieve at the same time.

I applied to Leeds Met through an agent in Nepal. They really helped me throughout the whole process including encouraging me to apply for the scholarship.

Scholarship

The scholarship was specifically designed for international students in business and law. I thought my achievements would fit into the scheme of the scholarship. In applying for the scholarship I had to submit paperwork that documented all my achievements both educational and non-educational.

I was so excited when I won the scholarship. I never thought the university would award me this fantastic opportunity. This scholarship means a lot to me and my family. An English education can be quite expensive for international students, and it was only by winning the scholarship that I was able to attend the university.

My family feel very proud because they know I had a considerable amount of competition in order to win.

What do you think of Leeds
Leeds is one of the greenest cities in the UK and is very popular for its night life.  The people are so friendly and helpful, and the multi-cultural aspect of the city is very vibrant! The most positive experience I’ve had since arriving at Leeds Met has to be how friendly everyone is. It really does feel like a very large multi-cultural family!

What do you think of Leeds Met?
Leeds met has been so supportive to me. There are many support facilities available at the university and they were excellent in helping me adjust to life here in the UK. The jobshop has also been so helpful to me since I arrived at Leeds Met. I have had great experiences working in several different sectors, which only adds value to the exceptional experience and education I’m currently receiving from Leeds Met.

MSc in Finance is all about decision making and analysing the market. The best feature about the course is being able to study an entire market which keeps me updated with the financial needs of an industry, thus I can make worthwhile and valuable contributions.

I live in Kirkstall Brewery. Even though it is so close to the university and the city centre it is situated amid beautiful scenery. The students who live here are so friendly also.

Aspirations for the future
After I graduate I would like to work in the UK for a while to increase my experience level and usability of the English language.  I know that attaining a masters degree in Finance will secure my place in the financial world.
