Why did you choose Leeds Met?
It is important to gain a different world view from a different paradigm. I wanted to expand my horizons, which is why I chose to study in the UK. I chose to study at Leeds Met because it offered the exact course I was looking for.

Scholarship
I had a story to tell, so I enjoyed the essay portion of the application. I had to write an essay regarding a typical day in my life. It was fun to shape my day into something extraordinary. Also, it’s not always easy for international students to afford education in the UK so the scholarship helps those of us that ordinarily may not have the opportunity to attend. Learning and growth mean the world to me and so I would have to say that so did my scholarship to Leeds Met, for that is what it allows me to pursue!

When I found out I won a scholarship to Leeds Met I was overjoyed. I am very passionate about learning and education is so important to me, so it was wonderful to have my achievements recognised. Also, I was elated because without winning the scholarship there was no way I could have afforded to study in the UK. I felt like I had won the lottery!

My family are overjoyed and so proud! But then again, they always had those feelings towards me, scholarship or not. So, that makes me very lucky!

The Course
I love my course! It’s the exact course I was looking for that will really help me achieve my future goals. The hands-on practical learning is exceptional.

The most positive experience I’ve had since I arrived at Leeds Met is meeting like-minded people on my course and sharing experiences with them. The course I’m on is exactly what I’ve been looking for, so to be here and to meet people who reflect and understand similar philosophies is a wonderful encounter. It is an excellent course; both practical and forward-thinking.

What do you think of Leeds Met?
I would definitely recommend Leeds Met to students. The university offers such unique, interesting and diverse programs. There’s something for everyone.

I feel a degree from Leeds Met will profoundly affect my future. This degree had opened all the doors I needed and my career prospects are looking incredibly bright!

The city of Leeds
Leeds is a great city, but the greatest aspect is that the countryside is so close to the city. I’ve been able to visit a farmer’s market in the centre that sold locally produced wares.

Future Aspirations
I have gained employment in sales and marketing with a UK company that owns and operates ethical lodges in Mozambique. The job is fantastic and between the job and the course I am really striving towards my future goals.

After I graduate, I wish to continue to grow and work in responsible tourism and community development.
