Faraz won a full scholarship to study BSc in Public Health - Health Studies at Leeds Met in September 2006.

"When I decided that I was going to continue with my education, and proceed onto undergraduate studies, I asked myself these three questions; Which universities offer the course that I'm interested in? Which location would I prefer? What is the standard of education available? After a great deal of careful consideration I decided on Leeds Metropolitan University being one of the few universities in the whole of the UK who offer BSc in Public Health - Health Studies."

"Offering excellent student facilities and a friendly learning environment, it is no coincidence that I picked Leeds Met as my first and obvious choice. I was already acquainted with the city of Leeds before coming to study as I had previously lived here during my secondary education. So I felt quite comfortable and at ease settling once more into the vibrant and alive city of Leeds. I was also aware of the fact that Leeds is considered one of the best university destinations in the UK."

"I found the admission process was quite straightforward. The staff at Leeds Met were always willing to help me out whenever I had any queries regarding the course and admissions process. The scholarship application process was amazingly simple to follow and I also found writing the essay quite a pleasurable and satisfying experience. The essay was about ‘A typical day in your life' , and in my opinion it didn't just assess the applicant's skills but also acknowledge one's individuality and originality."

"I can clearly remember the day when I received my scholarship congratulatory email; I was just stunned and immediately felt honoured for being accepted out of so many talented individuals. Initially, after leaving college I was unsure about what to do, but I knew that I wanted to go into the health sector and pursue a career where I can help others and make a difference in their lives. My course allows me to keep my options open while also being designed to meet the needs of the industry. I believe studying this course will help me to reach my full potential and increase my job prospects."
