Why did you choose Leeds Met?

The UK has the best system of education that is accepted globally. It was my first choice and the most natural choice. A number of my friends graduated from Leeds Met and went on to secure very good jobs. I have visited other universities around the UK but I found Leeds Met to have the friendliest atmospheres and one of the best academic reputations.

What do you think of Leeds Met?

Students who come to Leeds Met can be assured of a successful future. The design, structure and flexibility of the courses and the outstanding help from professors give only the best start to a professional career. I really enjoy the marketing orientation part of the course; identifying and satisfying the needs of customers and maintaining profitability.

I was nervous when I first attended the university, but the welcome programme made me feel accepted and integrated. I settled in very easily thanks to the assistance from friendly staff and students. The international student advisor provided a great wealth of information and her approachable and helpful manner made me feel accepted in my new country. Also, The freshers’ festival was very well put together and allowed me to truly prepare for the start of my new life at Leeds Met.

My favourite experience since being here has to be meeting all the students from other countries and cultures. Despite our vastly different backgrounds we blend together easily in the city and the university.

The Scholarship
I really wanted and needed to do this course offered by Leeds Met to help fulfil my goals for the future. However, I could not afford the tuition fees. I applied for the scholarship and was so happy when I won because it meant I could pursue my dreams.

When I won the scholarship to Leeds Met I felt happy and so thankful to the authorities that chose me and to my own self for having the determination and assertion to chase my dream.  This scholarship now means I must work hard, appreciate what has been offered to me, keep reaching for my goals and extend a helping hand to others, just as Leeds Met extended a helping hand to me.

The city of Leeds
Leeds is a developing city with a multi-cultural feel. Whilst being a large city it is safe, friendly and easy to get around.

Future plans

I have worked with immigration advisory services interpreting for my native language; Chicewa. But, I obviously would like to progress this further. After I graduate I would like to gain some work experience globally and then go back to my homeland and serve my country professionally.

A degree from Leeds Met will open doors and create opportunities globally in my career and make me a highly marketable contributor to my country.
