The best experience of my degree, without doubt! My five months in Gothenburg were great in every sense. Exchanges are truly the best way to enhance your university experience - studying abroad gives you a completely different experience. Scandinavia is great and when you are in Sweden you have every opportunity to visit places such as Stockholm , Copenhagen , Oslo and Helsinki . Places our summer holidays usually don’t take us. The Swedes are interesting people, in some aspects very much like us and in other ways very surprising. Holidays never truly allow you to grasp a country and culture. Living, studying and socialising in a foreign country can.
The courses I took in Sweden were a refreshing break from my UK degree and the study system is very different. Working with people from all over Europe (and some further afield) gives you a real appreciation for having English as your first language, as well as learning parts of others. If you go abroad you will come home with an irreplaceable experience, new friends, a home from home, maybe a little more of a foreign language and certainly some great photographs! One last thing… Sweden is NOT as expensive as everyone thinks!
