Leeds City Council required information about existing sport and leisure activities for disabled children and young people in Leeds, with a view to improving access and facilities. In consultation with Special Education Needs (SEN) children, parents and teachers, the Usability North services at Leeds Metropolitan University, developed an accessible, web-based diary known as ‘My Week’.
Down LoadLuminary Solutions contracted Usability North to provide them with a competitive edge when pitching for a project with a new client. The project in question involved the revamp of a major internal software system, used by tens of thousands of online users. Luminary Solutions created a new, user-friendly screen design and approached Usability North to undertake an eye tracking study to test its usability.

Down LoadIn preparation for a full redesign of its existing website, the Skills for Learning team at Leeds Metropolitan University wanted to establish the needs and expectations of its ‘customers’ i.e. the students. Usability North conducted a comprehensive usability evaluation of the existing site, involving interview, questionnaire, eye tracking study and video recording. The results were used to determine the design concepts for the new site and help the Skills for Learning team develop its new design objectives.
Down LoadWith the aim of maximising sales of executive hospitality facilities and seats, Club Wembley was looking to review its existing website. Usability North, a consultancy initiative based at Leeds Metropolitan University was contracted to provide a usability evaluation of the existing website, plus recommendations for future improvements that would improve ease of use and ensure Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) compliance.
