The usability north aims to make this website as accessible as possible. The site has been built using HTML 4.01 Transitional and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) and is compliant with W3C-WAI Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0, Level A conformance.

Access Keys
Access Keys allow you to access the main navigation elements by using your keyboard. If you are using Windows on a pC, press ALT + access key, then enter/return. If you are using a Macintosh press Control + access key, then enter/return.

Another way to navigate the site is to use the Site Map.
You will find that that is additional contextual menu on the left side of the page. This gives you information about further pages within a section.
Skip Navigation
For those of you using screen readers, you are given the option to skip navigation and go directly to the main content. The access key assigned to Skip Navigation is "k".
Resizing Text
As relative font sizes (small, medium, large etc.) and not pixel-based font sizes have been used on this site, you can easily resize the text. To do do so, please follow the steps below relevant to your browser:
Internet Explorer
1) Override the Font settings in the style sheet:
Tools>Internet Options> Accessibility> Formatting>Ignore Font Size Specified in Web pages
2) Change the Font size.
View> Text Size>(Largest, Larger, Medium, Smaller, Smallest)
Netscape 7.0
Tools>Text Zoom>(Smaller, Larger, 50, 75, 90, 100, 120, 150, 200, other 300)
Mozilla Firefox
Tools> Text Size> (Increase, decrease, normal)
Alternatively, scroll with the wheel of your mouse whilst holding down the control key.
Changing the Style sheet
If you would prefer to use your own style sheet, follow the steps below relevant to your browser to override the attached style sheet. please note that if you choose to do this, the intended presentation will be lost.
Internet Explorer: Tools > Internet Options > General > Accessibility
> Tick 'Format documents using my style sheet' > Browse (to your
style sheet)
