Undergraduate Showcase 2007
"Amazing, really interesting work, total dedication, so much to see, the students were so committed to their projects." These were just a few of the complimentary phrases which were used by visitors to our festival showcase event in James Graham and Caedmon at our Headingley campus. Websites, DVDs, short films, animations, promotional soundtracks, computer games, record label launches, learning aids and software systems for businesses were included in the many projects for local clients, many who attended and could not praise the students' achievements enough. Local clients included Leeds Met partners Leeds Rugby and Yorkshire County Cricket Club. Other local clients included Friends of Holbeck Cemetery, Thackray Medical Museum, Hinsley Hall, Armley Mills, Meanwood Valley Urban Farm, Bronte Country Cottages, Age Concern and the Royal Armouries. Already some students have found employment as a result of the quality of the work produced and through the event. The products produced have real commercial value and are created by our dedicated students who are encouraged to take an entrepreneurial approach to their learning.
