Research & Consultancy
Research within the faculty has been spread over a variety of areas as the faculty has grown and evolved over the last few years. We have had creditable outcomes in Library & Information Studies which has led to creditable outcomes from the Research Assessment Exercise in both 2001 and 2008. We are currently encouraging research and associated activities across a broad range of areas, building on the skills and expertise of our staff and students for the future.
We wish to build on the expertise of our Professors and Readers, also encouraging other staff to engage with research. This will include publications, presentations at conferences, recruitment of postgraduate students - at both Masters and PhD levels, preparation of research bids, as well as less traditional avenues such as performances, installations, and other digital outputs.
We have a vibrant group of post-graduate students, engaged in research in a wide variety of areas. In addition we are currently developing a portfolio of Masters by Research options that will allow students to study on their own chosen topic with extensive input and guidance from staff in the faculty.
