Overview

Computer technology has revolutionised the production of animation for film and television, both in 2D and 3D. This course will allow you to develop your specialist skills and knowledge of animation technology. It will provide you with an opportunity to use new digital animation tools, and develop your skills, methods and techniques in the use of this exciting technology, both creatively and technically.

Computer animation offers a route into a rapidly-growing diverse industry with outlets in film, television, games, advertising, design and visualisation. As the industry continues to expand, it requires skilled practitioners. This course offers tuition in 2D and 3D animation accompanied by a moving image module. You will gain an appreciation for, and practical experience in, the traditional application of computer animation through to contemporary digital practices.

Entry Requirements

In addition to the University entry requirements, you will require either a first degree in a related subject with evidence of a substantial technological component, or in a technological subject with evidence of creative ability, or a relevant professional qualification with supporting evidence of appropriate work through a professional portfolio.
