Module aims
This module aims to give students a balanced and critical view of the state of creative technologies currently used in industry. You will explore current creative and technological limitations and become involved in forecasting future changes and developments.
You will cover topics including:
- technology related to current creative technologies
- conceptual and creative processes and practice
Learning outcomes
On completion of this module you should be able to:
- Critically review and analyse the current "state of the art" creative technologies and emerging technological trends;
- Identify and critically evaluate a specific set of technological tools and the creative methodologies required to complete a significant creative industries product with them;
- Reflect upon technological change in the light of creative practice

Teaching and Learning Strategies
You will be presented with a breadth of contextual material, utilising different approaches/methodologies and techniques, delivered utilising team teaching:
Two types of lecture will be presented: case-studies and tools/ techniques lectures representing different views on the practice of creative technology. Following these lectures integrative seminars/tutorials will investigate the similarities and differences of approaches, views and techniques.
