3D Computer Technologies
Module outline
This module investigates recent and emerging 3D computer modelling, animation visualisation and rendering techniques.
It aims to develop techniques to produce a portfolio of unique 3D content to a professional standard.
Key topics covered will include:
- Application within media industry - review products for techniques
- Technique analysis - determine the best strategy for given objects, materials and lighting condition i.e.
- Texture and materials i.e. wood, concrete, cloth
- Lighting and camera techniques applied to various environments
- Script/story board the sequence
- Technique analysis - determine the best strategy for given objects, motion types, materials and lighting conditions i.e.
- Keyframe animation & editing
- Animation lighting and cameras
- Motion paths and motion capture
Learning outcomes
On completion of this module you should be able to:
- Demonstrate a critical awareness of new and emerging 3D technologies.
- Critically evaluate and select appropriate data capture, manipulation, advanced modelling and realistic rendering techniques.
- Develop a portfolio of unique 3D content using an appropriate range of advanced techniques.
