MA FEMINIST STUDIES - Postgraduate Opportunities

• Want to learn more about women's activism and campaigns locally, nationally and internationally?

How significant is gender to your working life (childcare concerns, education, homeworking, equal rights legislation, new technologies, `postmodern' cities, working `cultures', the `glass ceiling'.....)

All these issues and more will be discussed and analysed on the new MA Feminist Studies beginning this Semester. This cross-University course is devised to attract students from a range of disciplinary backgrounds who wish to apply feminist knowledge to their academic area or career.

Core modules include:

• Contemporary Feminist Thought;
• Women's Activism; and
• Research Issues: Feminist Perspectives

Electives can be selected from a range of areas including:

• Gender & Education;
• Sexualities in a Social Context;
• Feminist Perspectives on Cities and Urban Spaces;
• Black Women, Discourse & Identity; Women & Management;
• Feminist Issues in Science & Technology;
• Men & Masculinities

In addition there is a Research Workshop and Dissertation.
