Health Sciences

The Health Sciences group run a group of popular Biomedical Sciences courses  and professional qualifying courses in Osteopathy, Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine. We  also teach across the Faculty, providing biological sciences modules for Nursing, Dietetics, Physiotherapy, Speech and Language Therapy and other courses.

Most of our courses can be studied part-time (typically one day per week) or full-time. A wide range of innovative learning approaches is used, with emphasis placed on the development of employability skills. We aim to keep up with new developments and design our courses to meet the needs of employers.

We can offer research degree supervision in pain physiology, pharmacology, microbiology, molecular biology, novel diagnostics, clinical biochemistry and related biomedical sciences disciplines - follow the links below for further details.

Our new Biomedical Sciences laboratory was opened in Spring 2010 and can accommodate up to 106 students carrying out a range of Biomedical and Environmental Science experiments. The laboratory is also available for hire - please contact s.rooke@leedsmet.ac.uk for further details and prices.
