Centre for Food, Nutrition and Health

The Centre brings together a multidisciplinary team of highly experienced and dedicated researchers and practitioners to focus on issues in the area of Food, Nutrition and Health. This expertise involves colleagues from professional groups across the Faculty of Health including Nutrition and Dietetics, Microbiology, Environmental Health, Health Promotion and Health Economics.

The multi-disciplinary nature of the group places it in a strong position to study the wider determinants of public health and contribute to advancing of the science of food and nutrition and its application to human health and well-being. As healthcare practitioners, staff carry out this work as part of their professional practice but are also involved and committed to a range of voluntary activities. They are also members of national organisations and professional bodies and have strong, well established, formal and informal links with a wide range of interest groups and government agencies.
