Nuffield Bursary student publishes research

Jennifer Cottell, a BSc Biomedical Sciences graduate, recently published her research in the journal Physiotherapy with Dr Pauline Fitzgerald, Dr Alan Edmondson and Professor Mark Johnson from the School of Rehabilitation and Health Sciences. The study assessed skin microflora following repeated application of self-adhesive electrodes used during transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation and was conducted during the summer vacation of year 2 of Jennie's undergraduate studies, funded by the Nuffield Undergraduate Research Bursary Scheme.  In the same issue of the journal Carole Paley, PhD student, published a discussion paper with Professor Mark Johnson questioning whether physiotherapists should use acupuncture for treating patients with cancer-induced bone pain.
