Assessment, Learning & Teaching

The Faculty's Assessment, Learning and Teaching (ALT) practice and strategic approach is based upon and reflects the University Assessment, Learning and Teaching Strategy (2008-2012).

This University ALT strategy sets out priority actions and targets to promote the continued development of fit-for-purpose approaches to learning, teaching and assessment  that fully meet our students' needs.

Current developments in Assessment, Learning and Teaching in the Faculty incorporate leading edge developments in the use of Technology Enhanced Learning, formalised opportunities for inter-professional learning and active involvement of service-users and carers in the design and delivery of courses.

The University values:

  • enhancing the learning experience of all students
  • rewarding excellent teaching and using informed, appropriate approaches to assessment, learning and teaching
  • coaching students to engage in their own learning
  • promoting inclusive approaches that recognise and celebrate the diversity of our students
  • encouraging and fostering reflection and lifelong learning by students and staff.
