Campus Card

Your Campus Card

Your Campus Card makes your life at Leeds Met easier.

Your Campus Card is used for:

  • Accessing The Library
  • Using The Sports Centre
  • Printing and photocopying using the Leeds Met iPrint system.
  • Accessing some Leeds Met buildings and rooms (it can work the same as a key).
  • Identification purposes - for example, at exam time.
  • Showing your Leeds Met Student Union membership.

Please note that access to some of the above services may depend on what type of a student you are.

New students - how to get your new Campus Card

Uploading a photo

If you are a new student, you must upload a photo before you can get your Campus Card. You should upload a passport style photo - a head and shoulders picture of you that looks like you! If your photograph is not acceptable, you will not get your Campus Card, you may have to queue to get a replacement card, and you may be charged for that replacement.

It's important that you upload a photo before you arrive, as otherwise you may have to spend valuable time queuing to have your picture taken and card produced after you have arrived.

You can upload a photo at the online Leeds Met Welcome Information Service.

If you have problems with any of this, please email campuscard@leedsmet.ac.uk.

Collecting your card

Once you have uploaded a photo, you will be able to pick up your card during Welcome Week:

  • If you are in a Leeds Met Hall of Residence (Opal 1 & 2, Woodhouse Flats, Carnegie Village, Sugarwell Court, Kirkstall Brewery), your Campus Card will  be given to you when you first go to your Hall of Residence.
  • Otherwise, your Campus Card will be given to you at the Cardzone - which is in the Helpzone. There is a Cardzone at each campus.

Ifyou are an off-site student, then you should contact your Course Administrator to get your Campus Card. But remember, you will still need to upload a photo first.

Not able to upload a photo?

If for any reason you are unable to upload a photo, you will still be able to get your Campus Card. You will need to go to the Cardzone at either Helpzone at some point during Welcome Week, where we will take your photo and produce a Campus Card for you.

Please note that if the card zone is very busy - you may have to participate in a pre-fulfillment variable-time-limited social engagement column (ie a queue) for a while.

Replacement Campus Cards

You can get a replacement Campus Card from either Helpzone.

Faulty Campus Cards

If your Campus Card is faulty (for example, it will not allow you to take books out of The Library), you should first go to the Help and Information Point in The Library where your Campus Card will be tested. If it is found to be faulty, you will be given a slip of paper which will allow you to get a replacement Campus Card, free of charge, from the Helpzone.

Damaged Campus Cards

If your Campus Card is faulty because you have damaged it, you will be charged £10 for a replacement.

Lost Campus Cards

If you have lost your Campus Card you will be charged £10 for a replacement.

Stolen Campus Cards

If your Campus Card has been stolen, and you have reported the theft to the police and you have a crime number, you will get a free replacement Campus Card.

Why do you need a Campus Card?

Access to The Library

Your Campus Card can act as your ID if you need to access The Library out-of-hours.

Sports Centre Membership

Your Sports Centre membership is put on your Campus Card - so every time you use the Sports Centre, you will need it to get in.

Printing and photocopying

Whilst at Leeds Met, you can print and photocopy using the iPrint system. In order to do this, you will need to put money on your Campus Card. You can do this in two ways:

If you have any problems with topping up, please contact the Help and Information Point in The Library.

Access to rooms and buildings

Some students will need their Campus Card to get into some buildings and rooms. If you cannot get into a room (and you think you should be able to!), please contact your Course Administrator.

Exams

You may need your Campus Card for identification purposes if you are doing an exam.

Problems?
