Mark Gamsu
Associate Director of Public Health,
Regional Public Health Group in Yorkshire & the Humber

Mark is responsible for ensuring delivery of the health and well being component of Local Area Agreements. He also carries a development agenda that includes local government and health, public health capacity, and migrants.

Previously Mark was the Regional Associate Director for the Health Development Agency in Yorkshire and the Humber. Mark has extensive experience of working in Local Government – as the Healthy City Co-ordinator for Sheffield, he was responsible for developing the city's

health partnership, developing the city’s physical activity partnership and improving services for vulnerable people in the city centre.

Mark has also worked in a number of other roles in Social Services and Housing and in community development and housing projects in London.

Mark has a longstanding personal interest in the relationship between service improvement, accountability and community engagement.
