People in Public health - launch of the Expert Hearings summary report

PIPHThe People in Public Health research team are pleased to announce the publication of a summary report of a series of expert hearings on lay people in public health roles.

The national hearings brought together experts from many different fields of work including NHS, voluntary sector and academic institutions, to give evidence about approaches to involving lay workers and volunteers.  Jane South, Principal Investigator, said:

"The expert hearings were much more than a consultation exercise, as we were privileged to be able to debate some of the thornier issues around this type of work with a range of experts with specialist knowledge. We hope that the summary of findings will continue to stimulate discussion on how public services can effectively support community members to make a difference to population health".

If you would like a copy of the report, please email piphproject@leedsmet.ac.uk

Alternatively the summary report can be downloaded here.
