Professor Ieuan Ellis

As Associate Dean and Professor of Healthcare Education, Ieuan provides strategic leadership for the Faculty of Health on Assessment, Learning and Teaching. This incorporates leadership of developments in inter-professional learning, service user and carer involvement in the curriculum, widening participation and partnership links with the Regional University Network, Technology Enhanced Learning and portfolio development of the Faculty’s continuing professional development scheme. He is also the Leeds Met Director of the CETL ALPs.

Ieuan joined the Faculty in September 2004 from Northumbria University, where he held a number of curriculum development and project management roles and developed his interests in lifelong professional learning, the assessment and accreditation of work-based learning,  inter-professional learning, and more recently, the development of sustainable healthcare education programmes in sub-Saharan Africa. He reflected on these career interests in his inaugural professorial lecture.  Ieuan currently serves as an elected member of the Executive Team of the UK Council of Deans of Health, advising on national policy development.
