There are a wide range of tools for synchronous and asynchronous communication and many innovative ways to use them for learning. For many teachers the use of such tools is often the least technically demanding aspect of TEL and also makes best use of skills gained while teaching via conventional media. Small developments in how you communicate with students and enable communication between students can have a big impact on the success of a course.
Rob Shaw takes a particular lead on developments in this area of TEL and will be building this section of the LTU web site.
