Chairman of the Institute of Travel and Tourism (ITT) and owner of Majestic Travel, Steven Freudmann, has been awarded an honorary degree by Leeds Met as part of our Summer Graduation celebrations.
Steven led the creation of a formal partnership between the ITT and Leeds Met, and received his honorary doctorate in Business Administration from the University's International Faculty.
He said it was a "Wonderful honour and a real privilege" to be presented with the award. He also stated that for a university to offer courses of the kind provided by Leeds Met, let alone a degree, was "Bustlingly and exceptionally satisfying for him" as no such courses were available when he attended university.
Speaking of his passion for travel, he said "Travel is a richly rewarding experience" adding that those graduands going into the travel and tourism industry will quickly discover its benefits.
After thanking Leeds Met his doctorate award, he concluded: "This is proof that travel really does broaden the mind", before wishing all the granduands the best of luck for the future.
