Nimble Thompson Nimble Thompson
Nimble Thompson has been a member of the Board of Governors of Leeds Met for the past twelve years, and Chair of the Board since 2000. He is a solicitor and former Managing Partner with Eversheds one of the largest legal firms in the world.

Sue Campbell
Sue Campbell, Chair of the Youth Sport Trust, has received an Honorary Doctorate of Sport from Leeds Met during Summer Graduation 2006.

 

 

Geoff Hitchins Geoff Hitchins
After a long and distinguished career at the University, Dr Geoff Hitchins is Emeritus Deputy Vice-Chancellor and will receive an honorary doctorate from the Faculty of Arts and Society.

Yorkshire celebrity chef Brian Turner received an Honorary Doctorate of Science from Leeds Met during Summer Graduation 2006.

Another key figure in the world of music, Dr Nicholas Childs, Conductor of the Black Dyke Band has received an Honorary Doctorate of Music from Leeds Met during Summer Graduation 2006.

 

Dee Caffari
The first woman to sail solo around the world against the prevailing winds and currents, has received an Honorary Doctorate of Sport Science from Leeds Met during Summer Graduation 2006

 

Rachael Heyhoe Flint,
England ’s best known female cricket player, cricket broadcaster and journalist received an Honorary Doctorate of Sport Science from Leeds Met during Summer Graduation 2006.

Benjamin Zander Benjamin Zander
Key musical figure and inspirational business speaker Benjamin Zander has received an Honorary Doctorate of the Arts from Leeds Met during Summer Graduation 2006.

 

Dame Fanny WatermanDame Fanny Waterman, Piano Teacher and founder of the Leeds International Pianoforte Competition has received an Honorary Doctorate of Music on Wednesday 19 July.

 

Sir Iqbal AKM SacranieSir Iqbal AKM Sacranie, OBE FFA, founding Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Briton, has received an Honorary Doctorate of Laws from Leeds Met during Summer Graduation 2006.
