If you feel that you are unable to attend your graduation due to lack of finances, we are offering 25 bursaries (funded by Wm. Northam) to cover the cost of hiring your graduation gown, hood and hat, for students graduating in Summer 2013.  

You will need to demonstrate that you are experiencing financial hardship and will be required to complete an application form. 

We will accept applications from students

• who receive a partial maintenance grant from the Student Loans company, please supply a copy of your Student Finance Breakdown for 2012/13
• and/or you can provide evidence of financial difficulties, please supply 3 months’ worth of detailed bank statements including details of any overdraft you may have and any other evidence to support your situation.

These funds will be allocated on a first come, first served basis following a complete application form with supporting documentary evidence. 

Students eligible for the Leeds Metropolitan University bursary will not be considered as the bursary you have already received from Leeds Met is greater than this award.

Please note Graduation is a formal occasion so dress in a smart presentable fashion, jeans are not advisable. You may find it useful to wear a buttoned shirt/blouse to which the academic hood can be fastened. Hair grips are also useful to secure your hat.
