Welcome to Getting Sorted

The Getting Sorted Enterprise Unit specialises in participatory research with children and young people with type 1 diabetes, their families and healthcare professionals. The aim of this is to develop, influence and enhance service redesign and service improvement in the UK.

Our vision is to enable young people with a long-term condition to achieve their optimal health through combined research and enterprise. We work with young people, their families and professionals to deliver a high quality, young person centred self management programme. This will support and enhance a young person's ability to develop strategies and approaches to living with type 1 diabetes and will enable them to take responsibility for the management of their condition for the rest of their lives.

There are three strands to the unit:

- Development

Winners of a Nursing Times Award, the only non-NHS organisation in the innovation category at the Medipex Finals and described as an 'exemplar of good practice' in two NHS Yorkshire and the Humber SHA (Y&H SHA) Reports.
