Healthworks

Improve your health and lifestyle, reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke.

A company called 'Healthworks' will be delivering health checks on 21 May in DT104 Headingley Campus and 22 May in D209 Civic Quarter. This 30 minute health check involves lifestyle advice and includes:

blood pressure;
total cholesterol level;
blood glucose level;
body composition;
body mass index;
stamina.

Stress Management Therapy Workshop - 22 May D308 at 12pm
Julie Brooke from one of our partner colleges will be conducting an advice workshop on the benefits of holistic therapy.  Topics include aromatherapy, reflexology, body massage, reiki and Hopi candles.  After the initial workshop there will be questions and answers and a chance to sample oils and lotions.

Regional University Network Partners Fair - 22 May Lower Concourse Civic between 10am and 3pm
Adult Learner fair with Leeds Met staff from the Faculty of Health, Carnegie, the Health Centre and HR to offer advice and information on health and fitness related issues.  Along with partner and local colleges our own Staff Development Team will also be on hand to provide information about recreational and vocational courses available for all staff.

Truffles and Ivor the Artist
Call in to the lower concourse at Civic on 22 May between 12pm and 2pm where you will be shown the basic skills of cartooning and caricature, and balloon modelling.  You have the choice to take part and learn a new skill or just come along and watch how it is done.
