Responsibilities
Professor and Director, Centre for Public Relations Studies.  To develop thought-leading academic research in public relations and communications which will be funded by research bodies and other organisations, and be published as books and in the highest ranking Journals. To lead and contribute the public relations submission to the REF, having led the RAE submission of 2008 - the second most successful Unit in the University. To undertake funded research and consultancy work for external organisations - client list includes The UK Cabinet Office, Department of Health, NHS, Local Government Group, Nokia, Bank of Scotland and Tesco. To contribute thought-leading research to teaching programmes to ensure their currency and standing.

Summary of Experience and Achievements
Originally a practitioner, Anne had twelve years' experience up to Board level both in-house and in-consultancy where she won industry awards for her public relations programmes.  She established the Public Relations Group at Leeds Metropolitan, now the largest such centre in Europe. Anne created the Centre for Public Relations Studies, now recognised as one of the leading research centres internationally.  Anne is widely published with books, book chapters and publications in prestigious academic journals and an international speaker in demand.
Many awards for Anne's work on turning the practise of public relations into a profession, lead the Institute of Public Relations to Chartered status when president. Awards and achievements include:
Sir Stephen Talents Medal (CIPR) for Outstanding Contribution to and in Public Relations (2009) - the highest award that can be made by the Institute.
