Background
After graduating Nick worked for a number of international businesses in a management role. In 1988 he commenced his own business and oversaw the management of a substantial retail operation within the UK with an annual turnover of £5 million.
Nick is an acknowledged subject matter expert in the mapping and accreditation of military and civilian programmes to civilian awards for both higher and further education. One of his successes was the mapping of the TA and Regular Army Commissioning programmes to the Certificate in Management Studies however he has also had considerable success with mapping learning and development, management and team leading awards to a wide range of programmes thereby enabling individuals and groups to access fast track certification.
He was awarded National Teacher Fellow status in 2004.
Additionally his hobbies included teaching martial arts, leading mountain expeditions, canoeing, orienteering, running and paragliding.
Interests
His main academic interests and research is corporate governance, corporate social and environmental responsibility and sustainability.
