Leeds Business School has an impressive track record in developing the next generation of marketing professionals.  One of the most dynamic sectors of the economy, both in the UK and internationally, marketing offers scope for careers in areas as diverse as e-marketing, marketing research and brand development.  All organisations need a marketing function and our courses will equip you to become a specialist in this sector by giving you a thorough grounding in the principles and practice of marketing. This will include brand positioning, developing products and services and creating strategies to satisfy customers in both consumer and organisational markets.

Links with Industry
We have strong links with the marketing industry's professional body, the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).  Leeds Business School is an accredited study centre for the delivery of CIM professional awards and staff from the Marketing subject group have authored course books on behalf of the Chartered Institute. Leeds Business School has been successful in achieving CIM Dual Award status for its two undergraduate marketing degrees. The Marketing group is involved in many initiatives both close to home and further afield, including issues as diverse as research into consumer behaviour in Leeds and African business development.

Events
We passionately believe in bringing our students into contact with top professionals; guest lectures provide an opportunity for students to meet experts from their chosen field. Keynote speakers who have visited us in recent months have included Professor Malcolm McDonald, one of the most influential marketing academics in the UK. Students can view and book onto events using our latest events section.

Student Opportunities
Our Student Marketing Society provides opportunities for marketing students to network and to attend a range of events such as guest lectures.  Students have the opportunity to take part in various business competitions throughout their studies such as the IBM Challenge and the Aviva Future Leaders.

The course has the option of a one-year paid placement to develop hands on Marketing experience. Many students take a placement year to gain practical experience and to give them a headfirst in the employment market.
