The research project will look at key sectors of the Hangzhou economy. Our aim is to engage key managers and educationalist on the changing employment and skills needs of Hangzhou city and region, and map the implications for Leeds Metropolitan University's trade, investment and business Education. Similarly, Zhejiang University of technology, college of business administration will be looking at their relationship with the Leeds and Yorkshire economy and companies.
One of the key initial tasks is examining the post-graduate final destinations employment data for the existing Masters in International Trade since 2004.
We also have a smaller China-Africa project developing, which is looking at potential synergies for CPD development in African countries where Chinese investment is strong
Further Bids are being made to Yorkshire Forward, Zhejiang Provincial Government and the European Union EU-China programme, to develop the project to look at employment, skills and training and human capital development in Hangzhou and Leeds.
