Some members of the Army Everest West Ridge team came to our school in order to give a presentation about their expedition. It was very interesting to learn about the amazing adventure which the team members will face.

They told us about all the training which they had been through in preparation for the expedition and how they have been working with Leeds Metropolitan University in physical training and in nutrition for the trip. They have created an energy bar specifically designed for the trip to provide the team with the energy they need for this challenging route of Everest.

They will face many challenges along the way and not only physical challenges but others such as working in a team over the whole expedition. They will be climbing the toughest and most dangerous routes which, has never been successfully completed by a Briton before.

The expedition will be a massive achievement for the team and everyone involved and I think they will learn a lot from it. Students like myself can learn and aspire to the bravery and determination of the team members that are undertaking this massive challenge.
