Alexa Morton - CIM Certificate in Marketing

Alexa is a graduate of Leeds Metropolitan’s CIM Certificate in Marketing and currently works as a Visitor Experience & Marketing Manager at Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal, a World Heritage Site in North Yorkshire.

She believes postgraduate study gave her the opportunity to enhance her knowledge of marketing in a way which complemented her work at Fountains Abbey. As she explains, ‘I had no formal marketing training before undertaking my CIM qualification, I therefore wanted theoretical knowledge to underpin my experience in the field.’

An important element of Alexa’s course was that it fitted around her employment: ‘The best thing was the ability to study for a postgraduate course part-time so that I could continue to work full-time.'

This combination of work and study has allowed her to gain practical knowledge of the subject, enhancing her career prospects, ‘The grounding I have received in marketing while undertaking my CIM qualification has enriched my understanding of marketing and ultimately made my career more fulfilling.'
