Am I eligible?
The programme is open to the following - within the Yorkshire and Humber region:
. Individuals who have been made redundant or at risk of losing their job.
. Businesses at risk of making people redundant or wishing to strengthen their skills base.
Nti works is open to recent graduates wanting to work in the creative and digital industry.

How much will it cost
For individuals who are at risk of losing their job or have already been redundant the training and follow-up support is available entirely free of charge.

For businesses who want to take up training for their employees  a 40% contribution to the cost is required.  The cost of the training differs dependent on individual choices but the average package is worth up to £1500 per individual.

How do I apply?
Individuals: There are two steps;

1. Register yourself by completing the registration form
2. A training needs analysis form will be sent to you in due course, you will need to complete this indicating your preferred training options.

Return both forms to skills@leedsmet.ac.uk. An appropriate member of staff with knowledge of your preferred sector will contact you to discuss the next steps.

Businesses
If you are a business affected by the recession and would like to offer employees training, please contact us on 0113 8121904 or skills@leedsmet.ac.uk to discuss the options open to you.

Training Needs Analysis
The training needs analysis form will be looked at by a senior academic with expertise relevant to the sector you work/would like to work in.  They will assess your needs taking into account your career history and will contact you to discuss your options. 

Other Information
Each package comes with two compulsory elements; 'training needs analysis' and 'mentoring' form crucial parts of the learning experience.  Indviduals can then choose from either the 'pick n mix' training or choose the Business Start-up programme.  Each individual can recieve a training package worth up to £1500 .

Economic Challenge Response is funded by Higher Education Funding Council for England's Economic Challenge Investment fund and Yorkshire forward's Train to Gain Enhancement fund.

The programme runs from July 2009 until August 2010, places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
