Access Agreement
Since 2006, HEIs have had the option to charge variable tuition fees for full-time undergraduate students above the prescribed level. This Access Agreement illustrates how we will invest some of the additional income into attracting applications from students from socially disadvantaged groups through bursaries, other forms of financial support, and outreach work.
Student Pregnancy Policy
Pregnancy and maternity are now protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010. From 1 October 2010, a student who is pregnant, or has given birth within the last 26 weeks, is now explicitly protected from unfavourable treatment. This is our University policy.

ECU Briefing | Equality Act 2010
The Equality Bill received royal assent on 8th April 2010, becoming the Equality Act 2010. The Act consolidates and streamlines current anti-discrimination legislation. This briefing focuses on te main provisions of the Act that will come in to force from October 2010. It also highlights for areas that HEIs should work towards for later commencement dates.
Equality Act 2010: Disability Quick Start Guide
This Disability Quick Start Guide tells you how the Equality Act 2010 changes how you have to act in order to prevent and address disability discrimination and disability-related harassment when you provide goods, facilities and services to the public, for example as a residential care home, community shop or after-school club. These parts of the Act will come into effect on 1 October 2010.
