Equality & Diversity Team Equality & Diversity TeamIan Clarke Ian manages the team and is currently working towards establishing a governance structure for equality and diversity with a view to ensuring that it becomes embedded across the University. This will ensure that Leeds Met complies with the law as well as providing a university-wide structure to deal with diversity issues. Ian came to Equality & Diversity from a disability support/student services background and was involved in devising and delivering mandatory diversity awareness in a further education college. He is a trained mediator and a qualified teacher and trainer. He is currently undertaking the ILM level 5 Personal Leadership programme. Lynne Wilson Lynne has worked and studied at Leeds Met for over 20 years. She joined the Equality & Diversity Team 3 years ago from a working background in Campus and Residential Services. Lynne says "I believe that everyone at Leeds Met has a responsibility to work towards the University's Values making the University environment one which is inclusive for all who work and study." Part of Lynne's role involves promoting Dignity and Respect at the University through the Network, and through training and awareness-raising. This involves providing support for people when work/study relationships become difficult. Richard Beacham Richard has worked for our University for three years in a number of roles. Richard is a trained mediator and advises colleagues on impact assessment implementation around the University. More recently he has been involved with analysing data from the staff survey and generating content for the website. Angi Marsden Angi's role is very varied - each day is full of exciting challenges that she says "makes the work very fulfilling and rewarding." Angi is administrator for the Equality and Diversity team. Her day to day responsibilities include providing support to the team and the Chair of the equality fora. She is a great believer in a positive approach to work and feels this is productive for the staff and the student experience. |
