Leeds Metropolitan University works hard to ensure that, as far as possible, it is accessible to a wide a range of students. We continually anticipate the general requirements of disabled people with a wide range of impairments and health conditions and build these it to our policies and procedures. Nevertheless we recognise that some students will require individual adjustments made to enable them to access our assessment, learning and teaching provision. The University has a Disability Services team where students can disclose their disability/impairment in confidence and discuss their reasonable adjustments with experienced Advisers who will then coordinate the arrangements for the adjustments to be made and provide advice and guidance to both students and academic colleagues on the requirements.

The Disability Services Team is the first point of contact for you to discuss your requirement for reasonable adjustments. We are able to offer a wide range of advice and support to all students whatever your impairment. We can liaise with academic staff, help draw up alternative assessment arrangements, conduct needs assessments for Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA) purposes, guide you towards specialist study and tutorial support and put you in touch with a number of disability organisations in Leeds and surrounding areas.

We are available at any time throughout your course of study here at Leeds Met but we do need you to contact us as soon as possible so that we can offer you the full range of support available.

It is strongly recommended that all students with an impairment, dyslexia, mental health or a health-related concern (e.g. epilepsy, diabetes) register with Disability Services as soon as possible so that your reasonable adjustments and support needs can be identified.
