Local Community Volunteering
There are many opportunities for you to get involved in volunteering in the local community and if you have the time, we really recommend it where you are a UK student, EU or international. Here are the main ways to get involved:
Volunteering in and around Leeds
We advertise loads of local volunteering opportunities with charities, voluntary organisations and community groups. You can access these through the Prospects website along with lots of paid employment opportunities. Just sign in with your student or staff log in details. For a summary of volunteering opportunities available please look at the volunteering positions in the right hand column. click here to log into Prospects.
Students' Union volunteering
CALM (Community Action @ Leeds Met) is based at the Students' Union and facilitates student-led, community driven volunteer action projects. We can help you to lead your own project or work with fellow students on projects that benefit kids & youth, older people and the environment. Some projects required a regular weekly commitment whereas others are more about the planning leading up to an event or just helping at the event itself. How much time you give is up to you! Carnegie Sports volunteering
Another way to develop a range of useful skills whilst at uni, increase your career and employability chances, and develop your knowledge and experience within the sports industry is through sports volunteering. You can register onto the Carnegie Sports Volunteer Programme for a range of sports related opportunities in a range of differing areas. There's something for everyone - from coaching to sports science analysis, umpiring to event management. It's free to sign up, and there are benefits and awards available no matter how many hours you to. For more information click here .
