Find out more: Archelon, the Sea Turtle Protection Society of Greece, works to protect loggerhead turtles and their habitats in Greece through monitoring and research, developing and implementing management plans, habitat restoration, raising public awareness and rehabilitating sick and injured turtles. Volunteers are needed to support a range of activities, including nest monitoring & protection, fundraising & public awareness and construction & maintenance of project sites and equipment. You'll have the opportunity to take part in all of these activities, but if you have particular skills or experience then please let us know when you apply. Further information will be available to download shortly, in the meantime read the FAQs and visit the Archelon website

Accommodation: You will be living and working with volunteers from other countries on campsites with very basic facilities. One of the sites has a campsite just for volunteers where as the other two are public camp sites. All volunteers take turns to cook for the whole group and volunteer duties include camp maintenance tasks as well as the conservation work. You'll need to take your own camping equipment but we can advise on that nearer the time.

Adventurousness rating: 3 out of 5! All of the sites are in beautiful coastal locations with access to a range of amenities however camping could be a challenge to many volunteers as could the 5am starts! Culture shock and language barrier should not be an issue and some volunteers really enjoyed group living whereas some struggled with it.
