Well Met adds another striking venue to its portfolio

Well Met Conferencing, already renowned for its portfolio of award-winning venues, has added another unique space to its collection. The new Carnegie Pavilion, officially opened by HRH the Duke of Gloucester and designed by Will Alsop of Alsop Architects, is a pioneering scheme providing world-class media and players' facilities, hospitality and teaching facilities all under one roof.

Carnegie Pavilion offers a number of spaces for conferences and events for up to 150 with fourteen rooms available including one lecture theatre and several smaller rooms with spectacular views across the pitch as well as the city of Leeds.

Kate Pitcher, Business Development Manager for Well Met Conferencing, said:
"The new Carnegie Pavilion is a fantastic addition for the city as it really is the first of its kind - a real dual use building giving sporting professional and conference organisers access to state of the art shared space. The Carnegie Pavilion is another iconic building for Leeds and Yorkshire and I'm confident that the new facility will be a huge hit with event organisers."

Environmental, economic and social sustainability are central to the project, which reflects Well Met Conferencing and Leeds Metropolitan's reputation as a 'green' University. Carnegie Pavilion achieved an environmental assessment (BREEAM) rating of excellent.

The iconic Carnegie Pavilion has replaced the existing Yorkshire County Cricket Club media and player facilities at Headingley Carnegie Stadium and will enable the venue to continue to host international fixtures. The project was supported by Yorkshire Forward, Leeds City Council, HSBC, The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and Sport England. BAM Construction Ltd led the development.

Well Met Conferencing manages a wide range of venues and spaces as well as providing experienced event management services for both internal and external clients.  Well Met's portfolio ranges from urban and parkland venues including the Rose Bowl, Carnegie Village, The Old School Board and the Gandhi Hall which collectively provide the perfect destination for conferences, meetings and exhibitions to product launches, dinners, filming, corporate away days and team building events.
