Well Met Conferencing pulls out all the stops for Asda celebration

Last month (July 09) saw Well Met's impressive Headingley Campus play host to a celebration evening for the national superstore chain, Asda.

The event, which was attended by just under 600 Asda employees and held in the Headingly Campus marquee, was to recognise the hard work, long service and achievements of its staff. The format for the day consisted of arrival drinks from 10.30am before settling down to lunch, pre-awards entertainment and a speech from the Chief Executive of Asda, Andy Bond. The awards ceremony then commenced before the evening was drawn to a close with the final session of entertainment.

The glittering awards ceremony, which was based on a garden party theme, was complete with a string of entertainment including a jazz band quartet on a band stand, stilt walkers and aerial performers with a bird cage backdrop.

Kate Pitcher, Business Development Manager for Well Met Conferencing, said:
"It is a great honour for us to have the capacity to host such a high profile event as the Asda employee awards ceremony. Events like this really put Well Met on the map as a national conference and events destination, enabling us to attract not only regional, but also national and international buyers."

As well as the Headingley Campus, Well Met Conferencing offers an array of other facilities including the striking Rose Bowl, a state of the art dedicated space for conferences and events; the recently refurbished Gandhi Hall, which provides a large flexible space that can house formal dinners and receptions for up to 400:  the historic James Graham building set at the Headingley Campus; and the Old School Board, set in the heart of the city overlooking Millennium Square. The most recent addition is the Carnegie Village in Headingley which, as well as providing accommodation for 479 students during term time, also enables the University to offer all year round residential conferences and summer schools.
