James Martin opens Carnegie Pavilion
On Monday 6th December, Celebrity Chef James Martin officially opened Carnegie Pavilion - one of Well Met Conferencing's striking new venues. The event showcased the new facilities available at the Pavilion, which is a pioneering scheme providing world-class media and players' facilities, hospitality and teaching all under one roof.
The event launched the multi-use venue in true Yorkshire fashion with a Yorkshire themed drinks reception and refreshments prepared by the Leeds Metropolitan University hospitality students. Yorkshire's own James Martin gave a guest lecture on his passion for hospitality in the region and he also judged the hospitality students who made canapés for the event.
Kate Pitcher, Business Development Manager for Well Met Conferencing, said:
"The new Carnegie Pavilion is a fantastic dual-use building and it is was a huge honour that Yorkshire's celebrity chef James Martin could mark the official opening. The Carnegie Pavilion is another iconic building for the Leeds and Yorkshire and I'm confident that the new facility will be a huge hit with event organisers."
The Pavilion, designed by Alsop Sparch Architects and built in partnership with Yorkshire County Cricket Club and Yorkshire Forward, is a 4,000sqm multi-purpose building and a distinctive new feature of the Headingley skyline. Carnegie Pavilion offers a number of spaces for conferences and events for up to 150 with fourteen rooms available including one lecture theatre and several smaller rooms with spectacular views across the pitch.
