Amber Cars are Leeds Met’s preferred supplier of pre-booked cabs throughout the Leeds area, and serving Leeds Bradford International Airport.
Air
Leeds Bradford International Airport is 10 miles from the city centre, with a regular bus link. Airlines including Jet2, Ryanair, bmi and KLM operate scheduled services from UK and European airports.
Manchester Airport operates scheduled international flights, and a railway station within the Airport complex provides a 1.5 hour rail link with Leeds’ main station.
Road
Situated close to the UK’s geographical centre, Leeds has excellent motorway connections to London, Manchester, Liverpool, Hull and the North.
Car Parking
Due to the city-centre location of the Conference, we are unable to offer dedicated on-site parking, and we recommend that delegates opt for rail, air or bus travel.
A short-stay pay-and-display car park is situated underneath the Rose Bowl.
The nearest long-stay car parks to the Rose Bowl are at Woodhouse Lane and The Light.
Rail
The National Rail network offers regular direct train services to Leeds from London; Birmingham; Manchester; Liverpool and Scotland. Most other UK destinations are also within easy reach.
The eventBritain BritRail Pass can be bought online and allows unlimited travel in England, Scotland and Wales on any scheduled train over the whole of Great Britain's National Rail network during the validity of the Pass without restrictions. Heathrow Express, Gatwick Express and Stansted Express, trains from Luton Airport to London, from Birmingham and Manchester airports are also included in the pass.
Passes are available in both First and Standard Class. The pass can be used inside 12 months from date of purchase. 3 days of travel must be completed within an 8-day period and the 7-day pass must be completed within a 15 day period.

Additionally, a free bus service operates every few minutes from Park Lane College (5 minutes’ walk from Opal), linking it with the Bus and Train stations, the city centre and the Conference venue at the Rose Bowl. For details click here.
Walking: Opal One & Two are c 15 minutes’ walk from the Conference venue and from the city centre.
Taxis: Cabs are plentiful in Leeds. They can be pre-booked by phoning a cab company or taxis operate from ranks at major points such as the railway and bus stations.
