Biography
Upon graduating from Chester College, Ron gained experience in a middle school, a high school and an FE college, as well as working in the Sultanate of Oman as coach and organiser for swimming and volleyball. After 4 years as a postgraduate student, Ron moved to Leeds Polytechnic in 1984, following a short spell at South Glamorgan Institute of H.E. (now UWIC). Ron has extensive consultancy experience in both professional and amateur sport, including national level gymnastics, professional soccer, and rugby union and rugby league. He also served as a senior tutor for the national Coaching Foundation, Universal Fitness Institute and has advised a local exercise equipment manufacturer for several years. Ron has successfully supervised several research student projects to completion. For two years, he also co-edited the newsletter of the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences
