Career Choices

To be able to make realistic, informed, career choices you need to know quite a bit about yourself and the occupations that you are considering. You need to be able to identify your occupational skills and the type of work activities that you find interesting and rewarding. Equally you should do some research about the sort of occupations available to you, the skills a particular occupation requires and the availability of jobs in that field.

You can use this information to make decisions about which occupations might be more suitable for you and identify what the implications of those choices might be. For example would you have to undertake a postgraduate course to qualify for a chosen occupation?

The resources contained on these pages are aimed as a starting point to help you consider your choices but you may also find it helpful to book an appointment with a careers advisor to discuss your individual situation further.
