Mike Moss, a graduate from Leeds Metropolitan University recently launched his new exciting website that allows people to ‘Gopher' the city's food and drink promotions.

Mike was granted the Proof of Concept fund from Business Start-Up @ Leeds Metropolitan University and highlighted that the £1000 grant was key in getting the company off the ground.

“Receiving the grant gave me even more belief that my concept was worth pursuing. It gave me the desire to develop my concept and carry out crucial market research to test whether the market exists for my website. The findings made me more determined to get started on my idea”.

Revealing his inspiration behind the name, Mike said;

“It's obviously a play on the phrase ‘going for' using the gopher animal: Gopher for lunch, Gopher Drinks. By working as a team and getting both businesses and city dwellers to join we can help each other. The more people that get on board, the better the service and the offers will become each week. If you're lucky you may even spot a Gopher running around the city helping to promote the site!”
